Pre Assistance Dog Program (12 Weeks)

This class is only for clients hoping to continue into the Melton Assistance Dog Training Program. Please book this class only if you hope to progress into the Assistance pathway.

Level 1 and 2 – Prerequisite to the Melton Assistance Dog Training Program

This 12‑week program provides the essential foundation skills required before entering the Melton Assistance Dog Training Program. The first 6 weeks focus on manners, calm behaviour, and core obedience. The final 6 weeks continue into the Intermediate Level, building confidence, reliability, and real‑world skills.

Class Schedule

• Weeks 1–6: 9:00am
• Weeks 7–12 (Intermediate Level): 10:15am

Important Information Before Booking

• Vaccination Certificate Required A current vaccination certificate must be sighted prior to Week 1. Participation cannot begin until this has been provided.
• Training Equipment Provided: In Week 1, your dog will be fitted with a Training Halter, and you will receive a 1.8m lead as part of your enrolment.
• Long Weekends: There is no training held over long weekends. Classes resume the following week.
• Refund Policy:  No refund is available for cancellations made within 7 days of the program start date.

• Djerriwarrh Festival – 7th November: Brigittes Dog School will be closed

Brigittes Dog School Will be closed from the 5th December to the 16th January (Inclusive)

The Level 2 Training will start the 23rd January 2027.
